Gilman City Girls Move On, Boys’ Season Ends

The Gilman City Lady Hawks picked up a first-round district victory Monday night, defeating Newtown-Harris handily, 44-16 in Green City. The Gilman City boys weren’t as lucky, however, seeing their season end with a 63-53 loss to Linn County.

The Gilman girls had no trouble getting past Newtown-Harris thanks in part to the play of Morgan Reed and Mikayla Toombs. Reed led the Lady Hawks with 13 points and Toombs
