County Puts Use Tax On April Ballot

The Grundy County Commission voted this morning to place a 1.5 percent use tax on the April 2 ballot.

The tax would affect items purchased out of state at a cost of $2,000 or more, such as vehicles or equipment. Commissioners said the tax would basically restore one that was eliminated recently by the Missouri Supreme Court that allowed the county and city to collect sales tax on purchases of
