Livingston County To Close Jail

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. (AP) — A northwest Missouri county jail is closing immediately because of its poor conditions and a lack of money to fix it.

County commissioners say the Livingston County Jail in Chillicothe is closing immediately. Inmates are scheduled to be moved Wednesday to the Daviess/DeKalb County Regional Jail in Pattonsburg.
Sheriff Steve Cox says the 34-year-old jail has serious sewer issues that would be costly to repair. And
