Area Residents Attend Silver-Haired Legislature

Fourteen residents of northwest Missouri attended the Silver-Haired Legislature meeting held on Oct. 10-12 in Jefferson City.

During the session, 20 separate proposals were debated and voted on, with five legislative priorities decided by the group. Gov. Jay Nixon addressed the group on Thursday.
Legislative priorities approved by the group included complete restoration of core funding for senior center meals programs, increased funding for Medicaid meals programs, a permanent Silver Alert
