Grundy County Had 20 POWs During World War II

Editor’s Note: The following story about Grundy County’s WWII Prisoners of War was provided to the Republican-Times by local historian Allene Maloney, who has spent several years collecting information on the county’s military veterans.

During World War II, 20 military men from Grundy County were taken prisoners of war.
