Gracie A. Tharp, a 70 year old resident of the Sunset Home in Maysville, passed died at 9:25 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, of Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton. Open visitation will begin Thursday morning. Sept. 24, 2009 at the mortuary.
Mrs. Tharp was born on Jan. 20, 1939 in Brimson, the daughter of Jack and Gracie M. Stanley Gibler, the youngest of 13 children. She was married to Robert L. Tharp on Sept. 7, 1958 in Trenton.
She is survived by one daughter, Terri D. Lawrence and her husband, Dave of Higginsville; two sons, Kendal L. Tharp and his wife, Pam of Maysville and Robert B. Tharp and his wife, Wendy of Springfield; a granddaughter, Erica D. Wiedmaier of Higginsville; a grandson, Robert J. Tharp of Dallas, TX; two step-granddaughters, Ashley and Amy Lawrence of Kearney; four great-grandsons; four sisters, Mildred D. Hobbs, Reda N. Little, Josephine “Jode” Shockey and Edna Mae Eaton; and one brother, Eddie R. Gibler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert L. Tharp; brothers, Marion S. Gibler, Raymond S. Gibler, Billy D. Gibler, Arnold D. Gibler, Edward “Bige” Gibler; sisters, Marjorie D. Hamby and Lillian A. Gibler; and a grandson, Daniel Tharp.
