BPW Discusses Water Violation

The Board of Public Works, which oversees operations at Trenton Municipal Utilities, held its monthly meeting Tuesday evening at the TMU warehouse on Oklahoma Avenue.

The board discussed a notice of violation received by the utility from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources for exceeding the maximum containment levels for trihalomethanes in drinking water. Trihalomethanes are a by-product of using chlorine to make water safe to drink.
