Former Resident Earns Honor

Tad Bartimus was recently recognized by the Washington Press Club Foundation during its annual congressional dinner in Washington D.C.

Ms. Bartimus received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her “outstanding accomplishments” in journalism by making a contribution to the journalism profession and enhancing the role of women journalists. A war correspondent in Vietnam, she was The Associated Press’ first female bureau chief and first female special correspondent.
