Missouri Man is Facing Charge

A Preston man is being held in the Grundy County Jail on cash bond after being arrested on two charges of passing bad checks.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, the first charge against 39-year-old Lewis B. Johnson alleges that he wrote the following checks on a non-existent account at U.S. Bank in 2006: to Hy-Vee on Nov. 4 for $51.35; to Amoco for $21.07 on Nov. 4; and
