Lightning Bugs By Jeff Berti

Dark summer nights never turn out to be as dark as we anticipate. The moon casts shadows, the stars shine, airplanes flash overhead and lightning bugs glow. Call them lightning bugs, glow bugs or fireflies; they are perfectly harmless. Nobody says anything bad about them at all, which is unusual for insects. No doubt it’s that fascinating light they carry with them.
